1940s Sweetheart Promise bracelet in original box to this piece

Promise Bracelet, small ladies expandable stretch, gold filled sweetheart bracelet with design on center piece, perhaps a fancy J? 1940s era. There is no backing on the center piece, don't know if it was ever there. Marked 'patented' on back of bracelet, no other markings. This was my mothers' given to her by my father in 1944/45 when he went off to Saipan. This is the original box for this bracelet and is 5 ½” long X 3” wide. I have been told this box is not native to this bracelet; however, it was given to my mother in this box. Perhaps the jeweler switched boxes, don't know, but all my life the bracelet was in this box. These were originally given as a promise to his lady when her intended went off to war.  OBO
